ThinkVD DVD to MP4 Converter is a commercial DVD ripper. It can convert DVD movies into AVI and MP4 files using H.264 and MPEG-4 for video encoding. And it can also convert DVD movies into audio files. This is helpful if you want to rip an audio DVD, for example.
At the bottom of the application's window, you can find a drop-down menu with all the available conversion profiles, sorted into categories. There are profiles for video, audio, HD video, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Archos devices, Creative Zen, iRiver, PSP and Playstation 3. You can customize the conversion settings used in these profiles by clicking on the "Settings" button.
This DVD ripper has some extra features, like a video editor that allows you to add effects to your videos, a merger and a trimmer. You have to manually add the .IFO file from your DVD so that the application can list all the DVD titles that make up your movie. Then, you select the profile that you want to use and convert the file.
All in all, this is a good DVD ripper. It works well, it has support for many devices, but it only supports two or three video formats.
